Dominican dembow stars Kiko el Crazy and El Alfa have teamed up for their latest single, “Pichirry,” which follows the recently released “Haitiana” with Flow 28. The collaboration with El Alfa was a must-have on Kiko’s album, as both artists frequently work together and share a passion for representing their beloved Dominican Republic on a global level.
The single's release coincides with the premiere of the official video, shot at Pica Pollo Joa in Kiko's neighborhood of Los Mina, Santo Domingo, and directed by Rodrigo Films. The video showcases scenes of Kiko and El Alfa dressed as cooks inside the restaurant, while other scenes take place in the neighborhood and inside a white container where they perform “Pichirry.” Dominican artist El Cherry Scom also makes a cameo in the video.
“I will never forget being able to take El Alfa to my neighborhood, Los Mina, with the director Rodrigo Films to film the video. I am very happy because it is recorded in history. The video was made with love for the fans to enjoy. It was a lot of fun to film in Los Mina, at the Pica Pollo Joa, surrounded by the children and the people from my neighborhood dancing and having fun. This was a very special experience for me," explained Kiko el Crazy.
Kiko el Crazy has become a driving force for Dominican dembow on an international level. His debut album, “Llegó el Domi,” was critically acclaimed and named as part of Rolling Stone's "The Best 100 Albums of 2022" and "The 50 Best Spanish-Language Albums of 2022." Kiko was nominated for "Premios Heat 2022" in the "Best Dominican Urban Artist" category and "Premios Tú Música Urbano 2022" as "Top Dembow Artist." Kiko continues to reach new heights and has been named by both Tidal and Pandora as a “Latin Artist to Watch.”
Kiko el Crazy is finalizing the details of his upcoming album, “Pila e Teteo,” which is set to release on April 13, 2023.
