Prince Royce, one of bachata’s most recognizable voices, has released a new single—this time reworking a legendary track from the Bee Gees. His version of “How Deep Is Your Love” blends modern sounds with the rhythmic sway of bachata, along with a touch of Spanglish lyrics. The result? A nostalgic yet fresh take that feels right at home in today’s music landscape.
A Nod to the Classics, With a Personal Twist
This isn’t the first time Royce has put his spin on a throwback hit. His 2010 breakout single “Stand By Me” introduced many listeners to bachata-infused covers, and it seems he's tapping into that same formula again—this time with a deeper personal connection.
“My mom used to listen to ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ while working in a factory,” Royce explained. “That’s how she fell in love with these songs. I want to honor that feeling while giving this track a new vibe for younger listeners.”
Spanglish + Bachata = Something New for the Playlist
Royce’s latest release plays with language and rhythm in a way that mirrors the current Latin pop space—where bilingual lyrics and genre-crossing tracks are gaining serious traction. The use of Spanglish in “How Deep Is Your Love” adds a cultural layer that feels familiar to many first- and second-generation fans in the U.S.
The production itself leans into traditional bachata instrumentation but isn’t afraid to experiment with polished pop layers, giving it a radio-friendly edge that appeals to both longtime Royce fans and new audiences.
Live Performance Preview at Premio Lo Nuestro
For those who tuned into Premio Lo Nuestro earlier this year, the new direction won’t come as a surprise. Prince Royce performed a 3-song medley on the broadcast: “My Girl”, “Dancing in the Moonlight”, and “How Deep Is Your Love”—each one a bachata rendition of a well-known classic.
This medley performance hinted at what might be a full project of reimagined throwbacks, but for now, Royce is letting the single speak for itself.
