Itzza Primera and Adso, both promising artists in the urban genre, released their surprise collaboration today on all digital platforms called "Gatos" (Cats). The Venezuelan artists have been working hard on the development of their careers and have fused their styles to tell a peculiar story through a lively reggaeton.
Adso is known for being one of the most versatile singers of the new generation of reggaeton, with a leaning towards romantic rhythms and a key collaborator with other talents. Meanwhile, Itzza Primera, supported by her record label Duars Entertainment, has established her figure within the female exponents of the urban genre with her fresh, alternative, and sensual style. She was also recently nominated for the Tu Música Urbano Awards in the Top New Female Artist category.
"I am very happy to be able to collaborate with Adso on a song like 'Gatos.' It is very easy to flow in the studio with Adrian, and this collaboration represents a lot to me. It has been a pleasure to come together for this, and what we most desire is to feel that people connect with what we did. Also, being able to work with such a talented compatriot fills me with pride," said Itzza Primera.
"Gatos," produced by DERBEAT and composed by Itzza Primera and Adso themselves, tells the story of a couple who decided to end their formal relationship because they understood that it was not working. However, they have not been able to cut their sporadic encounters due to the chemistry and desire that unite them. Through the song, both parties seek to make it clear that, despite continuing to see each other, there is no commitment involved.
The music video for "Gatos" was filmed in Medellin, Colombia, directed by Daniel Padra, and produced by Punto 8. It premiered simultaneously with the song on Itzza's official YouTube channel, @itzzaprimera9968. This collaboration between compatriots represents progress for both artists, and they hope that people connect with the story they tell in "Gatos."
