Despite a delayed start due to weather, Dreamville was determined to happen rain or shine. Thankfully, the sun peeked out and the festival kicked off with the artists, Sir and Jessie Reyez at both stages. Jessie Reyez brought a fiery passion to her performance and empowered the crowd with the affirmations, "I Am Beautiful. I Am Strong. I Am Loved." She performed the fan-loved, “Shutter Island” as her opening and then all her hit singles. The soulful indie singer, Sir ended his set with teary eyes after performing his fans' favorite, "John Redcorn."

EarthGang came out on the Rise stage with a bang. Although there were some tech difficulties, they powered through. The Atlanta Duo delivered a burst of hype and excitement to the crowd. Performing the crowd favorites, “A Billi, This Side, Proud Of You and Up.” Simultaneously playing on the Shine stage, the soulful singer Ari Lennox delivered a heartfelt performance of her hit songs, “POF, & Shea Butter Baby.”

As the sun began to set, performances from City Girls to Lil Durk had the boys and girls going wild to their favorite anthems. Lil Durk put on a stellar show. He also paid tribute to PNB Rock, Shiesty, King Von, and Virgil during his set.

To end the night the R&B icon, Usher busted out his classic R&B vocals and sexy-smooth 90s moves to the stage. A memorable moment for both the older and younger audience members. The audience covered at least half of the field and vibed out to radio hits, “Caught Up, and Yeah.” And we can't forget how cruelly the crowd got played as Usher signaled for his surprise guest Beyonce to come out, erupting a bunch of boos from everyone. He shortly was forgiven by a preview of his new music and the classic hits, “Love in this Club, “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home), and You Make Me Wanna…”

The festival had a wildly fun start with Waka Flocka’s explosive and energetic presence. He performed the throwback singles, “No Hands, Party Hard, and Hard In Da Paint." Travis Porter joined him in embracing the audience and turning the crowd into a real club and party-hard scene. As they made their way rocking through the crowd and up on the railings, the crowd rocked out and shouted throughout his entire set.

Summer Walker took over a couple of hours later, she came out dressed angelically in white with a beautiful white bedroom set design. She stayed true to herself with a laid-back but beautiful and tender performance. She brought out 6LACK to, “Like It” and gave a spotlight to an amazing vocalist and guitarist that blew the crowd away. Ending her set by announcing she’ll be releasing an EP titled, "Clear 2: Soft Life.

After hours of anticipation for the final set of the night. J. Cole takes the stage and performs his classic hits that held everyone in attendance captive. The whole crowd rapped along to every word. The field was filled, with people down to the other side of the park near the ferris wheel. He brought out other artists from the Dreamville lineup, and his “squad,” Earthgang, Bas, Cozz, Lute, and Omen. They all hit the stage at once before performing tracks like “Under the Sun” and “Down Bad” from their latest compilation album, Revenge of the Dreamers III. J. Cole also did his verse on “Stick” live for the first time.

Then as the set is hitting its near ending mark, J. Cole sits down to sing the beloved song, “Love Yourz.” The crowd passionately sang along every line. Afterward, the lights and screens cut out, leaving all impatient to see what would happen next. Then, taking the stage by storm Drake comes out to Travis Scotts, “Sicko Mode.” The screens turn back on and Drake flashes his baby blue Carolina Tar Heels jersey, pink face paint, and blue barrettes braided hair.

Jumping out after, Lil Uzi Vert wows the audience with his first hit single, "XO Tour Lif3." He played to the crowd by performing, "I Just Wanna Rock" with his iconic viral dance. Lastly, 21 Savage hits the stage for Drake and his newest single.

After the most memorable mash-up, J. Cole finally joins Drake back on stage to their song, “In The Morning.” J. Cole is then honored by Drake’s gift to have the crowd sing Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You.” A milestone accomplishment and a precious moment shared by the crowd and the legend of our time, J. Cole.
