Cartier concludes its year-long celebration of the Trinity collection's 100th anniversary with an immersive pop-up experience in Miami's Design District. Open from December 4 to December 8, 2024, the exhibition offers visitors a journey through the legacy of one of Cartier’s most iconic designs. This event marks the finale of a global series of celebrations that began in New York and included stops in London, Paris, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.
Exploring the Legacy of Trinity
The Trinity 100 experience invites attendees to explore the rich history of the collection, starting with its origins in 1924 when Louis Cartier designed the first Trinity ring. This piece, defined by its three intertwined bands of platinum, rose gold, and yellow gold, set the stage for a design that would be continuously reimagined over the decades.
The exhibition features five distinct spaces, each focusing on a different aspect of Trinity’s story:
- Jean Cocteau’s Influence: A room dedicated to the French artist and filmmaker who popularized Trinity in the 1930s with his iconic double-stacked pinky rings.
- Trinity in Pop Culture: A space that highlights the collection’s cultural relevance across decades.
- The Power of Three: An homage to the motif of three, a recurring theme in Cartier’s history and creations.
- Design Evolution: An exploration of Trinity’s precise yet poetic craftsmanship, showcasing key pieces from the Cartier Collection, a curated archive of more than 3,000 outstanding designs.
Celebrating New Designs and Collaborations
To mark the occasion, Cartier is launching a limited-edition Trinity collection in North America on December 1, 2024. This collection incorporates animal motifs, including Cartier's iconic panther, as well as tigers and snakes, in five innovative designs. Highlights include a two-finger ring and a single earring, offering fresh takes on the timeless Trinity aesthetic. The collection will be available globally starting February 1, 2025.
An Immersive Visitor Experience
Guests at the Miami pop-up will not only learn about Trinity’s storied past but also have the opportunity to try on pieces from the collection. The exhibition will be open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm at 23 NE 41st St., Miami, FL. Admission is free, but visitors are encouraged to reserve their timeslot at www.cartier.com to ensure a seamless experience.
A Timeless Symbol Reimagined
Trinity’s signature design has evolved to include collaborations with contemporary designers, such as Chitose Abe of Sacai, and innovations like the cushion shape introduced in 2024. The exhibition underscores the versatility and enduring appeal of Trinity’s three-gold configuration, which continues to inspire both creativity and admiration worldwide.
