'WINGED' by LIL DUSTY G Set for September Release

Chicago-based artist LIL DUSTY G has announced his upcoming album, 'WINGED,' set for release on September 13 through Marshmello’s record label, Polar Culture.

New Single "HOLIDAY" Sets the Tone

The album's first single, “HOLIDAY,” is a poignant love song that compares a tumultuous relationship to the manipulative grip of corporate America. This track sets the stage for an album that explores personal and societal struggles, drawing listeners into a world where love and control are intertwined. [Watch/Share].

An 8-Track Journey of Struggle and Redemption

The 8-track album tells a story of struggle and redemption, questioning authority and faith while holding onto a thread of hope. It combines personal introspection with broader societal critique, influenced by a range of musical styles from Radiohead to Immortal Technique. “Growing up, I was heavily influenced by Smashing Pumpkins and alternative rock, which introduced me to music, but it was really the underground rap scene that inspired me to actually put myself out there,” said LIL DUSTY G. “It makes sense that I’m now going back to my roots with alternative music as that’s what got it all started.”

Collaboration with Marshmello

Marshmello, a key collaborator in both the album and LIL DUSTY G’s career, said, "I've been working with Dusty for a while, and this album, 'WINGED,' is truly special. I can't wait for the world to hear it."

A Rich Tapestry of Themes and Sounds

'WINGED' weaves a rich tapestry of diverse themes and sonic landscapes. Each track unveils a different facet of the human experience—from the provocative introspection of “HOLIDAY” and the raw emotional turmoil of “GODSAW,” to the nostalgic hopefulness of “OLD DAYS.” “JUMPFLY THE BIRD OF PREY” rebels with its King Crimson-inspired sound, while “BLOOZE” shifts to a reflective, blues-infused narrative. “TROUPE DE POISSON” stands out as a haunting murder ballad, exploring themes of moral compromise and the selling of one's soul.
