ViX, the world's leading Spanish-language streaming service, revealed today the official trailer for its highly anticipated original series, SENDA PROHIBIDA (Forbidden Path). This modern adaptation, produced by Giselle González, pays homage to Mexico's first-ever telenovela and will debut on June 23, with all seven episodes available on launch day. To celebrate the premiere, viewers will have the opportunity to watch the first episode for free, with the full series accessible on ViX's Premium tier.

The release of the new version of SENDA PROHIBIDA coincides with the 65th anniversary of the original series, written by Fernanda Villeli. In 1958, this groundbreaking show marked the beginning of a rich and successful tradition of telenovelas in Mexico and across the globe.

The series features Ela Velden ("¿Quién Mató a Sara,?" "Gossip Girl: Acapulco") as Nora/Corina, Raúl Méndez ("Cocaine Godmother," "Narcos") as Federico Rubio, José Manuel Rincón ("Monarca," "Ringo: La pelea de su vida) as Roberto Rubio, Iliana Fox ("El Último Rey," "Imperio de mentiras") as Irene Rubio, Delaxa Meneses ("El amor invisible") as Martha Rubio, and Plutarco Haza ("El Señor de los Cielos," "Donde hubo fuego") as Raymundo Corrales.

SENDA PROHIBIDA unfolds the story of Nora, a young woman from the countryside who disrupts a happy family to attain the lavish lifestyle she has always desired. Set in a time when women were relegated to decorative roles, Nora Lopez—or Corina, as she is known in the cabaret underworld—is determined to achieve the wealth she has always yearned for, regardless of the consequences. From manipulating men with her immaculate beauty to driving a wedge between a father and his son, she is willing to shatter the bonds of love and plunge them into an abyss where each member must risk their own life.

The modern retelling of Senda Prohibida was penned by Leticia López Margalli ("Instructions Not Included," "Dark Desire"), Laura Sosa ("El señor de los cielos," "Al otro lado del muro"), and Nayura Aragón ("Al otro lado del muro," "Triptych").
