The 35th edition of PREMIO LO NUESTRO, the longest-running Latin music award ceremony and this year's inaugural Spanish-language award presentation, welcomed its first wave of artists, according to Univision. The night will feature memorable moments, such as Gloria Trevi's first year-to-date appearance on national television, a world premiere for the show's presenter and Queen of Pop Paulina Rubio, the TV debut of Christian Nodal and Tini's original collaboration, and much more. On February 23, PREMIO LO NUESTRO will be broadcast LIVE on Univision from Miami-Dade Arena, beginning at 7 p.m. and 6 c. with the well-liked pre-show NOCHE DE ESTRELLAS.
The first round of announced performers includes:
- The TV premiere of regional Mexican star Christian Nodal's soon-to-be-released single Cumbión Dolido will take place. When their most recent collaboration, Por el Resto de Tu Vida, has its spectacular TV premiere, Argentine pop sensation Tini will join him. Nodal has received seven nominations this year and eight PREMIO LO NUESTRO award victories, including four straight years as "Artist of the Year - Regional Mexican." Tini is nominated for “Remix of the Year.”
- El Alfa, an urban singer and composer, makes a comeback to the PREMIO LO NUESTRO stage to deliver a new song. This year, "The King of Dominican Dembow," who has won the PREMIO LO NUESTRO thrice, has received three nominations.
- Gloria Trevi, a superstar and global icon, will perform her iconic ballad Ensayando Como Pedirte Perdón live for the first time on national television this year during PREMIO LO NUESTRO. This year, Trevi is up for three awards, including "Female Pop Artist of the Year."
- La Adictiva, a well-known regional Mexican band, will perform their famous song JGL on the PREMIO LO NUESTRO stage for the first time. La Adictiva has received 3 nominations this year.
- Mexican American singer-songwriter Lupita Infante will perform a song that promises to be one of the night's most spectacular moments for the first time ever on the PREMIO LO NUESTRO stage. Infante is up for "Female Artist of the Year - Regional Mexican" this year.
- Paulina Rubio and Sebastián Yatra, hosts of PREMIO LO NUESTRO, will enliven the stage with unforgettable musical performances. Rubio's upcoming single, "La Chica Dorada (The Golden Girl)," will be released internationally, and Yatra will perform his most recent song, which will be released on February 16 LIVE, for the first time. This year, Yatra has received the most nominations with 10, while the Queen of Pop has received two.
- The newest track from upcoming bachata sensation Prince Royce will be debuted for the first time on television. The 20-time PREMIO LO NUESTRO winner is up for 5 awards this year.
Popular regional Mexican band Intocable will receive the esteemed Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia Award (Excellence Award) from PREMIO LO NUESTRO in recognition of their pioneering work in their genre and for opening doors for the following wave of Mexican American acts. 24 PREMIO LO NUESTRO awards have been given to the group, including the esteemed Premio Lo Nuestro a la Trayectoria (Lifetime Achievement Award) in 2019.
Beginning on February 9 at 8/7c on the official PREMIO LO NUESTRO Instagram account, fans can witness exclusive interviews with performing and nominated artists on PREMIO LO NUESTRO's Instagram Live program, which is hosted by Roberto Hernández.
