The Thompson hotel group was established in 2001. There are currently 19 properties under its umbrella, except for this one, which is the first Thompson to ever open in Europe. All others are found in either the United States or Mexico. Tucked away in the center of the bustling metropolis of Madrid, Thompson Madrid made an immediate impression on me. The chic exterior and contemporary design gave a hint as to the luxury that awaited inside, setting the stage for an unforgettable stay.

The Staff

The remarkable staff members of the hotel personnel were without a doubt the standout feature of my visit at the Thompson Madrid. The staff at the hotel treated me like a valued guest in every way, from the warm welcome I received when I checked in to the excellent care  throughout my stay. Their familiarity with the area combined with their eagerness to fulfill any need made for a problem-free and thoroughly enjoyable vacation.

The Room

The rooms at the Thompson Madrid are the pinnacle of how luxury and ease can coexist in a single space. Each suite is an elegantly crafted pocket of peace in the middle of the bustle of the city. Along with the comfortable bedding and up-to-date facilities, the thoughtful attention to detail in the room's design helped create an atmosphere that made me feel perfectly at home. After a day of walking Madrid's streets, I was able to relax in the room which offered an ideal environment to decompress.

The Rooftop

The Thompson Rooftop was without a doubt one of the most memorable aspects of my visit. The terrace was the ideal place to take in the charm of Madrid with its 360-degree views of the cityscape. Guests could enjoy original drinks made by their skilled mixologists while in the pool or sitting at the bar and order tasty tapas as they take in the stunning view of the city. My time spent on the rooftop terrace was very memorable. The staff was always ready to provide clean towels, additional pillows, and information about the surrounding area, making me feel welcome throughout my entire stay. 

The Omar

Each morning, I was invited to their restaurant The Omar. I got to enjoy their traditional breakfast and freshly baked goods. They offer a simple menu with delicious options all day. The restaurant staff made my mornings feel particularly special by being exceedingly friendly and attentive. A variety of breakfast options were provided to accommodate different preferences, and the food was excellent and well-prepared. My dining experience at the Omar Restaurant was a delightful addition to my stay at the Thompson Madrid.

During my entire visit, the remarkable commitment that Thompson Madrid has to providing customized hospitality stood out. Every element, from the friendly greetings I received upon arriving to the unexpected pleasures that awaited me in the room to the friendly support provided by the concierge crew, contributed to the one-of-a-kind quality of this hotel. My values as a responsible traveler aligned with the hotel's dedication to sustainable and environmentally friendly operations, which is very important to me. An honorable mention is the housekeeping team always ensured that the room was spotless. The Thompson Madrid completely surpassed expectations, establishing a brand-new benchmark for hospitality in Madrid.
