Born in Caldas, Colombia, Cristian Camilo Castro Pareja, better known as CrisCas, is a Colombian guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer, known for delivering energetic performances and passionate songs worldwide. He was introduced to music at a young age, as his grandfather and siblings played music every weekend, immersing him in the musical traditions of his Colombian homeland.After relocating to New Jersey, US, at 10 years old, CrisCas fell in love with rock and roll, learned to play guitar, and started his first rock band.
He excelled in cinematography, music composition, and photography during his high school years, showcasing his talents in local movie theaters and becoming a role model student with excellence merits.CrisCas soon met world-class guitarist and producer Mario Guini, and the duo went on to write and produce dozens of records together, starting their own band, Monte Grande. In 2010, CrisCas joined the band for the national tour of the Iconos USA Tour with Marc Anthony, performing at Madison Square Garden, Miami Heat Arena, and The Forum. This led to numerous calls from other superstars that wanted CrisCas to play guitar, like Anthony Fedorov from American Idol.From 2012 to 2014, CrisCas toured internationally with pop star Ariana & The Rose, performing in iconic stages like the 02 Academy in London, England, to the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles, California, supporting artists like Foxes and Chvches.
During this time, he collaborated with bands like Punto Ge and Super Litio in the Latin rock scene, showcasing his producing and writing skills.CrisCas finally reached his peak from 2016-2018, joining artist Thalia in 2016 for two Univision Specials 'Primera Fila' and touring multiple cities in the US. In 2016, he won ‘Song Of The Year’ at Subterranica Awards in Bogota, Colombia, for writing and producing the hit-song ‘I Love You’ for Latin Rock Band ‘Punto Ge,' opening doors to the Latin Rock market in South America. In 2018, he was nominated as Producer of the Year and Guitarist of the Year, taking home the 'Guitarist of the Year' award at the same Colombian academy 'Subterranica.'CrisCas's passion for producing music, films, and photography led him to build his own studio facility in 2018, ‘CMG' Studios (Cris Media Group). The studio gave artists access to creating anything they envisioned, from writing and fully producing songs to filming music videos and photography.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, CrisCas began working on his own music, releasing his album Malas Lenguas in 2020, produced by Dave Ricco, a middle school long-time friend of Cris.CrisCas is a dedicated and inspiring role model for younger generations, balancing work ethics and artist relationships as his strongest assets. He currently lives in Miami, FL, managing and representing Miami artists Jay Moar and Cami B with their music careers and developing a movement in the sunny state with his music. The best is yet to come for CrisCas, the artist, entrepreneur, and visionary.
