Miami Senior High Welcomes Carlos Vives for Latin GRAMMY Educational Program

Carlos Vives, an 18-time Latin GRAMMY® winner and celebrated Colombian artist, partnered with the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® to host an educational event at Miami Senior High School. The program featured musical performances, a Q&A session with Vives moderated by Lili Estefan, and the donation of musical instruments to the school’s band program, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation. The event, supported by Miami-Dade County, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and corporate sponsors like Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, emphasized the importance of music education and celebrated the school’s rich history and community impact.

This event marked the 42nd installment of the Latin GRAMMY In The Schools™ program, which connects students with music industry professionals and enhances access to music education in underserved communities. With past participants including Lin-Manuel Miranda and Becky G, the program has made a global impact, benefitting schools across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. Vives, a long-time advocate for music education, continues to inspire the next generation of artists, reinforcing the Foundation’s mission to empower youth through music and culture.
