Manolo Blahnik Opens New Boutique in Miami’s Design District

Manolo Blahnik has expanded its presence in the United States with a new boutique that officially opened in early 2025. This marks the brand’s first-ever location in southern Florida, situated in the heart of Miami’s Design District—one of the city’s most exciting and creative neighborhoods, dedicated to the worlds of fashion, art, and design.

A Stunning Design Inspired by Art Deco

The Miami Design District boutique is the product of Manolo Blahnik’s signature store design firm, Nick Leith-Smith Architecture + Design. The store features a striking geometric façade created by a circular motif, which continues into the interior with bespoke rugs and wallpaper. The space incorporates individually rotating wall slats to create floating shelves that will display footwear and small bags, designed to be customized for each new collection. British architect Nick Leith-Smith, who has worked with Manolo Blahnik since 2003, drew inspiration from Josef Hoffmann, a key figure in the European Art Deco movement. The homage to Hoffmann’s geometric shapes, ornamental detailing, and bold monochromatic designs features rich materials with a dominant black-and-white color scheme.

Exclusive Footwear Collection to Highlight the Boutique

The boutique will showcase 13 exclusive shoes in six different silhouettes. Among the highlights is the MAYSAL, a kitten-heeled mule originally created for Isaac Mizrahi’s Spring 1991 fashion show, now reimagined in playful pink suede. Also featured is the CHAOS, a style introduced in 2013, known for its return to simplicity and elegance, now seen in a bi-material version with navy blue nappa leather and a gingham toe strap.

Manolo Blahnik on Miami's Energy

Manolo Blahnik expressed his admiration for the city, stating: “The energy of Miami is fantastic; the people and the place are so welcoming. The Latin American Cuban influence is omnipresent, which I just adore. I wanted to open my store in the Design District because the area is full of beauty, with sculpture-filled plazas and striking architecture that make it a unique and dynamic place.”
