"La Jugada" brings Ana Bárbara and Don Vicente Fernández together in a long-awaited duet

The highly anticipated project of the Queen and King of ranchera music has finally come to fruition as they lend their iconic voices to "La Jugada." Ana Bárbara and Junio Cabral co-produced the hybrid ranchera, which was vocally directed by Vicente Fernández himself in his studio at the Tres Potrillos ranch. The song's musical production was completed in December 2017.

The audiovisual production for "La Jugada" was divided into two stages. The first stage was recorded in March 2020, where Ana Bárbara sang alongside Vicente Fernández in the lap of a tree on the ranch of the three foals in Guadalajara. This stage was directed by Azaneth Álvarez and Víctor Mata. The second part was filmed in December 2022 to complete the missing scenes under the direction of Manuel Goyosso, where Ana walks next to a white horse, which was Don Vicente's most beloved.

"I have mixed feelings because on the one hand, I can't find the words to express my gratitude to the great emotion of seeing the dream of uniting my Voice to that of my great idol Don Vicente Fernández crystallize and on the other hand, the need to calm the feeling that provokes the longing to keep him in mind, although I know that thanks to the magic of technology and through his wonderful interpretation, he will be eternally present in his work, and just quoting a phrase from this song, never better applied, (Even if you arenot with me, it is my love who accompanies you)So with our hands on our hearts we share the theme, LA JUGADA," shared Ana Bárbara.

"La Jugada" is a tribute to the original mariachi and its passionate lyrics and interpretations with the highest tones. The song is now available on all digital platforms.

In addition to the release of "La Jugada," Ana Bárbara is set to be recognized at the upcoming 30th BMI Latin Awards on March 21. She will receive the BMI Icon Award for her exceptional talent and outstanding contributions to the Latin music community since she began her career almost 30 years ago. Ana Bárbara is the first composer of regional Mexican music to receive this award, which is a tribute to her international career.
