Glam-Punk Meets Afrofuturism: Highlights from F/Row Fashion Week

F/Row Fashion Week took place on September 7th at the iconic Altman Building in Chelsea, New York. Following a successful showcase at F/Row LA Fashion Week in 2023, this event elevated the fashion scene with an array of innovative designs and artistic expressions. The Altman Building, renowned for its historic charm and modern amenities, provided the perfect backdrop for both emerging and established designers to present their latest collections. The event featured the latest trends and designs from top designers, including Killnana, Dria Driar, Kovid Kapoor, NotEqual, Darren Apolonio, Millari, Chris Nick, and Ezra Couture, making it a must-attend occasion for fashion enthusiasts.

F/Row Fashion Week celebrated diversity and individuality through its unique lineup of designers and models. The Altman Building's historic charm, combined with its modern facilities, set the stage for both up-and-coming and well-known designers to showcase their Spring/Summer 2025 collections.

NotEqual, by Fábio Costa, presented "Poéticas Agenders Afrofuturistas," a collection that embraced African diversity, challenged gender norms, and promoted sustainability through innovative design and AI technology. Fábio, a Project Runway Season 10 and All Stars Season 20 participant, wowed the audience with his forward-thinking approach, blending cutting-edge technology with deeply cultural elements.

Darren Apolonio's Spring/Summer 2025 collection was another standout. Known for his glam-punk aesthetics, Darren's pieces blended dystopian themes with high fashion. His gender-neutral lineup, featuring leather, glitter, and hardware in sleek black and gunmetal silver, embodied a chaotic yet polished vision. Darren, a Project Runway Season 19 contestant, continued to impress with his fearless designs that merged bold creativity with wearable fashion.

Other designers such as Killnana, Millari, Chris Nick, and Ezra Couture also captivated the audience with their distinctive collections, each adding their unique voice to the event. F/Row Fashion Week's kickoff on September 7th set the tone for New York Fashion Week, providing a platform for creative self-expression through fashion.
