Somos, the charitable division of Sony Music Latin, made history on December 11 at Uva Uva in Wynwood with the Somos Toy Drive, hosted by me in partnership with Sonrisa Rum and FAME Magazine. For the first time ever, Sony Music Latin opened its doors to the public for an event like this, and the response was absolutely incredible.  

The energy in the room was electric. Victor Manuelle, Jose Iglesias, and Mariah Angeliq joined us in person, lending their passion and support to this meaningful cause. Manuel Turizo, though unable to attend, made an incredible contribution by donating hundreds of toys to the drive. The highlight of the night? An unforgettable performance by Los Pleneros alongside Victor Manuelle that had everyone on their feet, dancing and singing with joy. It was a night filled with music, food, drinks, and a true sense of togetherness.  

A heartfelt thank you goes to Michi at Sony Music Latin, the mastermind behind this incredible initiative. Her generosity, vision, and dedication to making this event happen were nothing short of inspiring. Michi’s passion for giving back and creating opportunities for our community made all of this possible, and we are so grateful for her leadership.  

Thanks to our amazing community and the generosity of our artists and partners, we collected over 900 toys for the students of South Miami Heights Elementary. A special thanks also goes out to Cristina’s Academy, Miami Elite Transportation, and UPP Global for helping make the event run smoothly.  

Just a week later, the Sony Music Latin team brought the magic directly to the students by transforming their school into a winter wonderland. Christmas carols, festive decorations, a visit from Santa, and hundreds of toys made the holiday season unforgettable for these kids. Witnessing their joy was the highlight of this entire initiative.  

This was about so much more than music or toys—it was a celebration of community and giving back. To everyone who donated, attended, or supported in any way: thank you. Your contributions made this event truly extraordinary. 

 I’m honored to have been part of this journey, and I can’t wait to see how we build on this success next year.
